Robert Zemeckis holding mysterious smartphone like device during Back to the Future filming

So I was reading the book Back to the Future: The Ultimate Visual History and one photo in particular caught my eye.
There have been other so called "time traveler" photographs but this seems to top the charts. On page 84 is the following photograph showing Robert Zemeckis staring intently at something he is holding. It appears to be a smartphone, the way he is holding it, the way he's staring down at it. This would explain a lot about how much he knew about the future!
This photograph was taken sometime in 1984.

Did Melania Trump plagiarize Michelle Obama's speech or did Michelle Obama travel into the future and plagiarized Melania Trump's speech?

While it's easy to think that Melania Trump's speech sounded an awful lot like Michelle Obama's speech in 2008, what if Michelle Obama had access to a time machine and went into the future and found a speech she liked and changed a few things here and there and wowed everyone in 2008? It's the perfect crime because in the end, when time catches up, it's Trump who looks like the plagiarist.
But did Obama go far enough ahead to see who won the election?
